Final Stop

Wanted to write and let you know that Michael has made it to his final stop in Afghanistan. He is getting settled in and hoping to start a routine. We were able to video chat this morning. We never had that opportunity last time, but since we both have Macs we're able to do it. It certainly does help!!!

If you would like his mailing address, let me know and I'll get it to you! He can start getting mail now.

Until next time....

Moving slowly....

It's day 6 of Michael being deployed. He's made it to Afghanistan and is waiting for the move to where he will be stationed for the next 349 days (not that I'm counting!). We were able to chat online yesterday, which is what I needed. I'm having a bit of a rough start with this deployment. I think it's because I'm not working at the moment, if I was I know that would keep my mind of things. He had Tim Horton's the other day. The base is part of NATO so they have forces from all over the world there. So to represent the Canadians, Tim is there!!!

So with me, I'm planning on going to Jersey in 2 weeks for a wedding, then heading to Canada with mom to visit my grands. I can't wait for that trip. I kinda need the break from being down here. I love spending time with my grands....grandpa makes breakfast every morning, but if you're not downstairs by 9am then you've missed it, grandma makes wonderful dinners and butter tarts!!! I'm hinting grandma - butter tarts with no raisins for me!!!

Thank you for all your prayers. We appreciate it. As soon as Michael gets to his next place I'll let you all know what things he'd like or needs. If you want his address, just let me know.

Until next time....

Day 2.....

Well my friends. It's day 2 of the deployment. Michael is officially gone and I have moved into trying to some sort of routine. I spoke and saw Michel this morning on iChat. He looks good and I really miss him. He has updated his blog, so take a look at it. Hopefully he'll be able to post pictures and keep up with it while he's gone.

I'm doing well. Still a bit new being alone again. But I've got many things coming up in the next few months that I'm really excited about. Almost every month I'll be heading up north for different events. That will certainly make time go by so much faster.

Thanks for all you love and support. A few of you have asked for his address, and I am grateful for that. When he gets to his final place, he'll send me a list of items that he could use. As our family and friends keep us in your prayers.

Until next time....

It never ceases to amaze me.....

Well today was the day. It came out of no-where. In the Army things can change whenever they want it to. We were told that Michael may not be deploying until mid-October. That changed yesterday. We went to the battalion where we were told that he may or may not be leaving today. Ended up that off he went. So my wonderful, loving husband is gone for the next 365 days. I was very proud of myself for not crying though. He doesn't like to see me crying so I kept a brave front for him. It was a different story when I got home though. My wonderful neighbor, Brooke, had me come over when I got home just to chit chat. It's wonderful to be around women who are going through the same thing I am. We are each other's support and I thank God for them everyday.

I love Michael and am honored to be his wife. Sometimes his choice of job sucks, but I knew this when I married him. What he does is amazing and I know he loves what he does. He's great at what he does.

Please keep him in your prayers. If you would like his mailing address, email me and I'll send it to you. I don't want to post it here. He's keeping up with his blog while he's gone, so take a look over there for his updates. I will update here as much as I can.

Until next time.....
