Pictures from Michael

Michael sent me some pictures recently and I wanted to share them with you.

My parents sent him 2 Christmas trees that he received maybe 2 days before Christmas. This, I'm assuming, is his desk area.

This is their new kitchen that has recently been built. This facility feeds over 150 guys.

Michael has been receiving some stuffed animals from Operation Red Shield. This is a program that The Salvation Army New Jersey Divisional Headquarters does. They send care packages to soldiers who are deployed. Elaine, the director, added Michael to the list and has been sending him blankets and teddy bears for the kids who come into the aide station.

The children are more afrais of Michael than the soldiers with guns. So giving them a teddy bear gets their mind off of what Michael is going to do to them before he starts any procedure. From a bandaid to a shot, a teddy bear helps out a child.

The boxes that Elaine sends are always filled with goodies. At this point, Michael has so many boxes that he doesn't know what to do with them. He's not complaining at all.

I'm not sure who sent this package with the beanie babies, but he's grateful for everything.

Just another thing thing to add, I will be going back to Italy February 6th. I thank you for all the love and support while I've been stateside these 8 months. Michael has applied for Officer Candidate School and is hoping for a June acceptance. We're praying hard for this next step in his career. He will no doubt make a wonderful officer. We thank you for all the support that you are giving him.
