Still Nothing Exciting!

I lead such a boring life!!! Ran around post today like a chicken with my head cutt off. My neighbor Michelle is coming over to watch girlie movies tonight - we're starting off with Bridget Jones 2!!! And then maybe Breakfast at Tiffany's or Roman Holiday. Not sure which way to go yet. Tomorrow's Bible Study, and then Wednesday is the big day for my cut-outs. I promise to post pics of them on Wednesday. I'm baking mini banana muffins and another type of muffin for the refreshments and Tammy wants to introduce me to the General of our post. I promise to think before I say anything, Suzanne!!!!

Hope all is well with you. Michael goes out to the field on Wednesday to play GI Joe as I like to call it! He's ready to come home and so am I. He comes home next week so I'll start the countdown for all of you who care!!! 11 more days!!!!!!!

Loving you all!!!

Michael's doing well. He has 12 days left!!! WOO HOO!!! Hope all is well with you. I promise that when something exciting happens, I'll post about it!!! Love you all!!!

Happy Day!!!!

Story below about this picture!!

No, it's not a happy day because I got a job, nor is it a happy day because Michael's home, but it is a happy day because I got a brand new dryer, and there's heat and hot water in my entire house!!!!! The dryer door had loosened over the past month until it eventually fell off 2 days ago. So I called housing and today they sent 2 guys over to "fix" it. Instead they gave me a new dryer since the one that was here was an old one. So Mom, hopefully it won't take forever to dry!!!! On top of that, while my aunt and uncle were visiting, it had become very cold and my aunt is used to the warm weather of Florida, so my uncle and I tried to turn the heat on. To our surprise it only worked in my end of the house. Also we found out that the hot water in the extra bathroom did not work either. So when I called housing yesterday about the dryer, they were also sending over a plumber to look at the hot water heater. The plumber found out today that there was an extra water heater behind a locked door. Of course I didn't know if we had a key for it or not, but Michael had found extra keys in a drawer when we moved in. We were able to open the door and turn it on!!! So that's about all for my exciting day.

Had a great Bible study this morning. The women were all talking about their children because we were discussing Psalm 131 and "weaning children". I just sat there, turned to the lady next to me and said, "This is telling me how much I don't want children". Of course she got a chuckle out of it and all the ladies were apologizing and telling me how wonderful it is to be a mother. That's not all we talked about, but that struck me as funny.

Hope you're all having a good day. As I type this I realize that it's not even 9:00 am for you yet. So then, have a great day!!! By the way, Alison you need to post something on your blog!! I want more pictures of Jessica!!!! MUAH!

The Cut-outs

Well I did a bunch of cutouts today. I went to start the first one using a box cutter instead of an ezacto knife, and off to the clinic we went. I cut my finger using the cutter and surprisingly enough did not bleed on the cutouts, Thank God. Tammy took me to the clinic and they glued me back together. The glue slipped down my finger and I know have a burn blister on the inside of my finger. So I had an interesting morning at post.

Thanks to my wonderful brother and sister-in-law for the Halloween box. I'll wait for Michael to come home for him to enjoy the candy!!! And Alison sent me an awesome card with a pic of Jessica inside. She's now on the fridge where I can see her all the time!!!

So it was a good day. I'm exhausted. I've got a plumber and a fixer guy coming to the house tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully they'll be heat and hot water in the rest of the house, and hopefully my dryer door will be put back on the dryer. Love you all!!! Hope you have a great day!!!

Venice

Here's my Aunt Joanne and Uncle Wayne at the top of the Bell Tower in the square.

Welcome to San Marco, Venice. It was a rainy, chilly, very cloudy day, but we had a great time. I hadn't been to Venice yet, so while my aunt and uncle were here, we took a little trip. I'm sure Mhairi would love to go to the square, get some bird seed, and have some birds land and fly all over her!! Just kidding!! We all know how much she hates birds!! Love ya Girl!!

Anyway, I've posted some pics on my Flickr. Michael and I will be going there when he comes home. I hope you're all doing well. The weather here has been really funky, overcast and chilly. I'm enjoying laying under blankets and drinking Chai. Michael has 18 days left. We're both doing the countdown.

Love you all!!!

Family Visit

This is a pic of the Yorkshire pudding that I made for dinner tonight. We ate dinner at 10:15 pm. Anyway, Grandma they looked great in this picture and then they fell. I'll keep practicing!!! Just wanted my grandmother to see them. Not as good as the ones that I made at her house, but it takes some practice.

Well my aunt and uncle are here visiting. This afternoon we went to Nove where they are known for ceramics. So I purchased a beautiful water pitcher for myself and 2 wedding presents for some friends. Then I took them to Marostica where Michael and I went to the chess game. Tomorrow we are off to Venice for the day. I can't wait for that. They leave on Sunday and then come back for Wednesday night. I took them to post yesterday and then we went out for dinner at a restaurant in our town.

So that's about it here. Michael is doing well at school. Still sounding extremely exhausted. They go 7 days a week without a break. When he comes home in 20 days all he'll want to do is sleep. Keep him in prayer because he's getting a little discouraged. I don't want to say too much, but just pray for him.

Love you all!!!

Hey All!!

Well, I had a great day. I had lunch with some friends, cut some more ladies out, and got a bunch of mail today. Thanks Alison!!! I got your postcard from Key West!! I still can't believe Jessi will be a year next month.

Anyway, my aunt and uncle are on their way here tonight. Should be here by 12:30 am my time, so 6:30 pm for you at home. It will be nice to have some company in the house for a few days. Not sure what the plans are, but we are going to Venice one day. I'll hopefully get to St. Mark's Square and take some bird pics for Mhairi. I'm sure she'll love it!!

That's about it. Again nothing exciting going on. Michael has CQ duty tonight up in Germany so he won't be getting much sleep. Poor thing! He was hoping to take a 3 hour nap before he had to be on. He has a test tomorrow and if he gets a 90 or higher he doesn't have to take the real test on Friday. Of course he's an over-achiever so he wants to get a 100. And I say that with all the love in the world!!! I love you baby!!!!

Love you all!!!

It was 6pm...do you know where I'd like to be??

At 6 pm tonight I got in the shower, put on my pjs, and forced myself to stay away until I could call Michael. It's so sad that I'm so ready for bed. I went to post today and started cutting out silouhets (I know I spelled that wrong!) and then at 2:30 hit the gym. Now it's 7:30 and I so wish I could just go to bed. It's so sad.

Anyway, I'm going to have some chai and a fudgsicle, talk to Michael at 8:30 and then go to bed. I can't wait for that part!!! Hope you're having a great day. Love and miss you!!

Thanks!

Today I got 2 boxes from my parents. In it was an umbrella, shoes, clothes, warm sheets, jackets, and scarves. You see, I was going to ship a bunch of stuff over through the military. But when Michael and I started to talk about what we needed, it ended up being that we didn't need half the stuff due to electrical changes here. So my wonderful parents shipped over all my winter clothes. It's so nice to have my comfy "home" clothes.

Tomorrow I'll be at post all day helping out my friend Tammy with her Silent Witness program for Domestic Abuse Awareness Month. It's kind of exciting to actually have plans for tomorrow. Michael is doing well at his school. Extremely exhausted and ready to come home, but he's well. I'm ready for him to come home though.

Hope you all are having a good day.

Caryn's Fault

This is Caryn's fault and I'm obviously extremely bored. And what's with the Angelina Jolie. I wish I had those lips!!!!

So I've fixed the links section except the Flickr one doesn't go straight to us. So all you need to do is click on where it says go to the home page, type in my name, and then you'll see a few wedding pics. Just click where it says see all photos and you'll see that I've added some from Munich and Florence.

Clean House

Have you ever felt comforted by a clean house?? I spent about 1 1/2 cleaning our apartment this afternoon. I even cleaned the guest room before my aunt and uncle come. Just need to clean off all of Michael's stuff from the bed. Anyway, I put together Michael's table this morning, pushed the other boxes into the kitchen to be out of the way, and now all I have to do is a ton of laundry. That's tomorrow's project.

That's about it. Going to call Michael in a bit to see how his day was. He has to teach next week on bandaging burns, I think. When I talked to him yesterday, he sounded completely exhausted and still had some homework to do.

So that's my day in two short paragraphs. My mom called yesterday to check on me. It was so nice to hear from here even though we talk twice a week. All my love!!! :)

Packages

I love getting packages!!! Today I got my Chai from Starbucks!!!! I told the guy in the mail room that he completely made my day!!! I'll have some comfort while Michael's away. We also got our order from Ikea. My aunt and uncle from Florida are coming for a visit next week, so my uncle will be helping me put the big stuff together. Then I got a few things that I ordered from the Gap for our trip to Australia. I love packages!!!

Anyway, drove to post today and didn't stall at all!!!!!!!! I made it through the gates without having a problem. I pumped gas and realized that the last 2 gas coupons that Michael had left were expired, but the guy took them anyway. Thank God I bought another book on Wednesday.

So that's about all the excitement here. I'm gonna clean the house tomorrow and put together Michael's bed side table. Hope all is well with each one of you. Missing my friends now more than ever. I'm not used to being this alone. Guess I should get used to it.

What to do for dinner...

It's interesting being home alone. It's 5 pm and I'm thinking about what I'm going to have for dinner tonight. I was thinking about waffles, then I thought of mac & cheese. When Michael's home I just cook something and then all is well, but by yourself who wants to cook a whole meal for one person. When Caryn and I lived together I would cook dinner for the both of us sometimes. It's still early though - I'm sure I'll come up with something.

Anyway, day 2 of driving and I stalled three times trying to get through the gate at post. One MP said to me she's terrified of driving stick - then another MP said just throw it into 2nd and go. So I did that and unfortunately made the squealing of tires noise. Sorry Michael! I thought an MP would do something so I kept apologizing out the window. From what others have said to me, they see it all the time at the front gate. Oh well. I'll get it someday.

I went to an FRG meeting at noon today to find out information about the guys who are leaving this weekend. Of course it didn't have anything to do with me, but I got to find out some interesting information about upcoming trainings. Did some errands around post, spoke with a few friends, and Michael's First Sgt helped me out with some things that I was confused about. There's alot I'm learning about the military and things that should have been taken care of before Michael had left. We'll work it out.

So that's about it for my day. I was hoping to go to the market that was in our town today when I got home, but I guess it's only a morning thing and I missed it. Will have to try for it next week. Until next time, have a great day.

PRAISE THE LORD

Well I've successfully, sort of, driven on the road. We left for post this morning at 4am and i drove the whole way there. I figured that would be the best time since no one would be on the road for my first excursion out of a parking lot. Well I made it to post and didn't stall. Coming home is another thing. I stalled twice. Once trying to get out of the parking lot on post and second on the state route that takes us to our house with about 12 cars behind me. Thank God no one honked their horn at me - I'm not sure what I would've done. I was a nervous wreck, which means that I was sweating - thanks Mom!!! So we drove to post with the windows down and Michael was freezing but I wasn't as nervous. I talked to myself on the way home so that I would feel somewhat more comfortable - remember this is my first time driving without Michael in the car.

Oh yeah, and Michael is on his way to Germany until November 10th. I haven't slept well in about 4 days with the nervousness of driving and him leaving. I've been up since 2am - 8 am for you at home. And now and noon time i'm completely mentally and physicall exhausted. I'm ready to sleep now.

Keep Michael in your prayers as he is at a schooling he really doesn't want to be at. Keep me in your prayers as I continue to tacke driving and living through my first mini-deployment.

Love you all!!! PS Hi Grandma!!!

Pedicure

Well I have found a place to get a pedicure!! Michael and I just went for a walk and I went into a new place that does tanning, manicures, and pedicures. I'm so exicted. Alison, my feet will be taken care of here. So now, I just have to wait to go get them done.

Not much else going on. I haven't been feeling all that great today. I'm trying to get all of Michael's uniforms washed so that he can finish packing tomorrow. Our tickets for Australia are at the post office on post, but it was closed today so we couldn't pick them up. Gosh, I sound so boring.

Hope all is well with you. Will have a driving lesson tomorrow and Monday. Don't forget it's Canadian Thanksgiving on Monday so get your turkeys out. My parents are celebrating today with Andrew & Patti. Wish I was there for it. I love me some turkey dinner!!! GOBBLE GOBBLE!!!

Munich, Germany

We had a great time in Munich. Oktoberfest was very interesting. Not my cup of tea but at least I can say I experienced it. I didn't take any pictures of it sorry to say. We walked all over Munich, Michael ate German food, I didn't because it eats up my stomach. The top pic is of Michael in the center of the city by the old town hall. What's really cool about this place is that at 11am on Sunday morning we got to experience the glockenspiel. It was so awesome! I took some video of it. Anyway, all over this area there are people singing, playing instruments, and all matter of things. We watched a man from NYC play the xylophone - it was amazing, and a quartet of policemen singing opera. The next pic is of me at the fountain right before the city center, and the bottom pic is for Caryn and Jo - I found the Duetsche Bank for you!!!

We hit up all 3 Starbucks, found the Hard Rock Cafe but couldn't eat in it due to the crowd, and stayed at a beautiful Hilton with a king size bed. The train ride was beautiful through the Alps. Gotta tell you, the houses in Austria are just what you would imagine. We went through Austria, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, and then Germany. So I've now been to 4 countries and passed through 3. I'm getting there.

Hope all is well with each of you. We may be coming home in April for a visit. Michael has at least 2 weeks off then. Can't wait to hit up the malls and see all of our family and friends. And believe me, I want to see EVERYONE!!!

Driving Lesson

Well friends, Michael gave me my first driving lesson on a manual car. Yes, we are still married. I didn't have too much trouble, and only stalled 3 or 4 times. I've got the shifting from 1st to 2nd ok, and stopping, but it's the "getting out of the gate" part that i'm having trouble with. I did ok 2 times in a row and I think I got a little cocky - so of course that meant I screwed up on the 3rd try. We'll keep practicing every night but I have to have it down pat by next Monday, since that's when he's leaving and I'll need to be able to get the car back to our house. It's not as hard as I thought - in a parking lot - it's just that Italians are worse than New Yorkers on the road. I'm very nervous about driving with them.

I'll post something about Munich tomorrow. I had Starbucks twice - "OH HAPPY DAY". Caryn you'll have to wait until Christmas!!! We found all 3 Starbucks and went into each one - we found The Salvation Army and were a little disappointed since it was an ARC. Can you believe that there's no corps in all of Munich - it's a huge city. Uncle Jim, when you're General you'll have to take care of that!!!!

I have Bible Study in the morning and it's a pot luck lunch so I made a salad. I have to study or at least look over the stuff for the drivers test tomorrow. I haven't even had time to do that. Keep Michael in your prayers, he's having a hard time with keeping up with his nose that's overflowing. He won't take any Sudafed to help. And if anyone talks to Mhairi will you tell her I said hi and that I miss her. I need to know about when her parents are coming this way.
